The art of meditation is to train our thoughts to remain in the present; the more we can do this, the happier we can be. Unfortunately, we don’t realize just how incapable we are of keeping our thoughts in the present. This isn’t bad in itself – after all, we all have to think about our future or reflect on past situations from time to time. It is only when remaining in the present becomes the norm, rather than the exception that it can have a big impact on our overall wellbeing and subsequent happiness.
